5 useful apps that save you time & money

As Steve Jobs once said, “The most precious resource we all have is time”, so it’s important we use it wisely. Flipper is all about saving you time and money so you can focus on the things in life that actually matter, so we’ve compiled a list of 5 useful apps to help you do that.

1. Hopper

Hopper not only let’s you book flights from your phone but also tells you the best time to book.

Enter a destination and the app searches the Internet for the best deals, giving you a snapshot of fares and ideal travel dates. It even tells you when to book for the lowest prices with “95% accuracy”. Furthermore, Hopper is actually an accredited travel agency, so real people are there to assist you with your bookings.

2. Quiqup

Quiqup is an on-demand delivery service that let’s you purchase anything from food, electronics and even flowers from most areas in London and have them delivered to your door. You can track your delivery in real time and they even have their own courier service so you can have them collect and deliver other items too.

3. Shyp

Shyp picks up, packages and ships items for you at the lowest price.

Take a photo of the item you wish to ship and couriers will pick it up directly from your door before it’s packed by trained professionals using high quality materials. Shyp compares rates across carriers to find you the cheapest shipping price and then delivers the items for you. They’ve even partnered with eBay so you can ship eBay sales or even return items using their app.

4. BIZZBY

BIZZBY is an on-demand service which let’s you book all manner of professionals such as plumbers, electricians, cleaners and even personal trainers with the click of a button.

Simply book a “BIZZBY” for an immediate or future job and they’ll give you a price and arrival time. BIZZBY professionals are vetted and rated by users so you can choose best person for the job.

5. Cam Scanner

Cam Scanner turns your phone or tablet into a mobile scanner. Use your device’s camera to scan documents such as receipts, invoices, notes, whiteboard discussions and business cards, and Cam Scanner will then convert these images into clear and sharp JPEGs, PDFs or editable documents. These can then be shared with friends or colleagues via social media, email attachments or document links.

6. Gone For Good

I’ve included another app in this list which won’t necessarily save you time or money, but makes giving a little easier.

Most of us typically throw away or store unwanted goods, but Gone For Good allows you to donate these items to charities of your choosing. This not only helps those in need but is also beneficial for the environment—items we throw away end up in land-fills which pollute the land, ground water and water ways.

Pick a charity and take a photo of the item you wish to donate. Your chosen charity will then collect the item directly from your door, and you can even opt in to Gift Aid with a simple click if you wish to donate money to the charity as well.

There are a lot of apps out there that are considered a waste of time and money, so it’s nice to know that there are some that can actually help you manage your time and save you money. Flipper finds your best gas and electricity deal and automatically switches you to it, taking the hassle out of comparing and switching tariffs, so like us, these apps help us deal with boring or complex problems that distract us from what life is all about—living.
